Most of us love sweet treats. The problem with most sweet treats is that they are full of acidifying and toxic ingredients that suppress natural energy and immunity, as well as piling on the pounds. Unfortunately, even knowing how bad these foods are for us doesn’t stop us craving them, and giving into these cravings provides the perfect opportunity to beat ourselves up about our ‘bad’ food choices and how weak-willed we are. And this is were raw comes to the rescue!

A refined sugar addiction, often combined with a wheat addiction, is hard to kick. The way to beat it is to have healthy alternatives, like today’s Halva recipe. I love halva! I used to eat the cooked version a lot (usually full of refined sugar!), but luckily for me I LOVE this raw version even more. It’s sooo simple, literally 3 ingredients, and it really hits the spot when you’re craving something sweet. You can keep it in your freezer for when you need a little sweet pick-me-up. Kids and adults both love this halva, so a it’s a winner all round.
