Indian Green Smoothie

Green smoothies have the power to change your life (you’ll know that if you already have them regularly).  They are quick, easy and a natural multi-vitamin and mineral supplement that your body can benefit from instantly.

A morning green smoothie a day will help to balance your blood sugar, calm unhealthy food cravings, give you gorgeous skin and hair and help you lose weight.  Whatever you’re diet is like now, try adding in a green smoothie a day for a week and see what happens .

When we hit Canada in our campervan in September I won’t be able to take any of my big powerful blenders with me, so I’m on the lookout for recipes that are easy to make with a hand blender.  Today’s recipe hits the spot!  I love coming up with interesting and delicious green smoothie recipes and today’s recipes is a winner.

Indian Green Smoothie – The Recipe

I’m a massive fan of cardamom but if you don’t like it, just leave it out.

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and stone removed
  • 1 ripe banana, skin removed
  • 3 handfuls spinach
  • 1/2 lime, juice of
  • 1cm ginger root
  • 3 cardamom pods, husks removed
  • 300ml coconut water or water

Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy.  Smoothies really are that simple!

    When you read ‘Mango’ and ‘Banana’ as ingredients in a green smoothie, you know right away that it will taste heavenly and not at all grassy! Thanks for sharing this recipe Saskia!
