What stops us from eating as much raw as we want to when we know, either through experience or intuitively, that raw food works? When you get a handle on why you aren’t eating the way you want to all the time, you open yourself up to a future of feeling and looking fabulous. If you aren’t experiencing the mental, emotional and physical health you want, then you need to switch on or fine tune your awareness. Once you become clear how you feel in yourself, you then become empowered to make life-long positive changes that will bring you satisfaction, joy and fulfillment. How you do or don’t eat is only fractionally about the food; it’s mostly about your relationship with yourself
So, write down or ask yourself how you feel about:
Your Physical Environment
Do you love your home, or do you have a list of things that need to be done as long as your arm? Does your kitchen make it easy for you to eat the way you want to?
Your Emotional State
Do you feel good about yourself, or do you spend a lot of your time thinking about the things that aren’t right in your life? Are you stressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Do you feel guilty about things?
Your Level of Self-Responsibility
Do you feel like you know what you need to do to make things easier or better for yourself, but you just haven’t got around to it? Or do you blame your husband for the state of your relationship, or your job for making you unhappy?
Your Relationship with Others
Are you concerned about rocking the boat or sticking out and being different? Do you avoid doing things you’d like to do because of what your mother might say, or in case your friends think you’re strange? Do you find yourself spending time with people you don’t feel good around?
When you get really clear about what isn’t working for you in your life, then it’s time to start taking action. Create the emotional and mental space that you need to take your health and wellbeing seriously. Being loving and generous to yourself FIRST gives you the energy to be more loving and generous to others, without depleting your own life force. And what follows naturally from that is a peaceful and healthful relationship with food, which in turn means you’ll eat more raw without pressurising yourself and have the energy and vibrant health you dream of. Take one small step at a time – clear out your cupboards, start writing a diary with all the things you’re grateful for in your life, sign up for a self-development course, spend less time with a demanding friend. Life is a a series of small steps, just make sure your steps are going in the direction YOU want, because that’s the direction your life is going in.
